Dr. Elizabeth Half, Rambam Health Care Campus

Dr. Half’s research areas focus primarily on risk factors and cancer development pathways, focusing on understanding the interplay between the human body bacterial population and the risk of cancer.

In the clinical field, Dr. Half focuses on diagnosing populations with higher-than-average risk of developing cancer. Identifying the people at risk, characterizing the specific problem, whether it is a person who has cancer or polyps, or has a family history of cancer or a chronic inflammatory disease of the colon. In addition, Dr. Half has an interest and expertise in familial syndromes of gastrointestinal cancer.

Dr. Half is a co-author of Israeli Guidelines for the diagnosis, follow-up and treatment of families with polyposis or colorectal cancer syndrome that is not due to polyposis, and wrote many review articles on colorectal cancer prevention, published in the international press.

Dr. Half is a member of the Israeli Association of Gastroenterology and liver disease and a member of the Gastrointestinal Oncology Society. She is also a member of the American Association of Gastroenterology and serves as a senior clinical lecturer at the Technion Faculty of Medicine.
