Academic Activities

The RTICC supports the next generation of cancer researchers by offering prestigious fellowships for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows engaged in multidisciplinary cancer research. This collaborative environment accelerates scientific discovery and strengthens the fellows' academic and professional development.

The RTICC actively fosters a vibrant scientific community, for the benefit of students and post-doctoral fellows, by hosting a wide range of seminars and events that promote knowledge exchange and collaboration. These include international guest seminars, exclusive scientific brunches for students, as well as larger conferences and symposiums. These events provide valuable opportunities for networking, learning about the latest advancements in cancer research, and discussing innovative ideas.

For Graduate Students & Post-Doctoral Fellows at the RTICC-affiliated labs at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology

Prof. Yuval Shaked, Rappaport Faculty of Medicine

PhD/Postdoc candidate in bioinformatics at Yuval Shaked’s lab

Job Description: We are a leading cancer research laboratory located in the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, studying tumor microenvironment and host response to cancer treatment. The successful candidate will be joining a multi-disciplinary and dynamic lab.

The candidate is expected to apply his/her strong analytical capabilities and solid understanding of bioinformatics, and biostatistics to develop profiling platforms. The candidate will lead projects and work closely with members of the lab, to acquire data, build and execute analysis plans and deliver pre-clinical insights.

  • PhD or Master degree in computational science, bioinformatics, computational Biology or related disciplines
  • Hands-on experience in omics data analysis
  • Understanding of statistics and bioinformatics methods
  • Experience in working with public biological databases, methods and tools
  • Experience in analyzing diverse types of data (e.g. cell, proteomics, microbiome)

  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English
  • Self-Learner, Team player
  • Experience in developing analysis and experimental methodologies
  • Background in immunology and/or cancer biology
