Our lab at the Emek Medical Center in Afula combines multidisciplinary methodologies and research approaches to better understand and explore different aspects of Cancer. We challenge timely, urgent oncology and cancer biology topics with clinical experiments integrated with classical basic and translational research to improve oncology patient quality of life and advance anti-cancer treatment outcomes.

We currently deal with diverse research areas, including cancer epigenetics, cutting-edge studies on the effect of cannabis consumption by cancer patients, and the involvement of the endocannabinoid system (ECS) on patient’s immune system, immunotherapy, or the cancer microenvironment, establishing the benefits of different palliative treatment and uncovering their mode of action or studying the impact of cancer-associated inflammation.
Since we are located at the hospital with close contact and orientation with the patients as part of the ongoing cancer treatments in our oncology department, we are able to tackle unique and particularly significant research topics that may directly influence the nature and outcomes of the anti-cancer treatment, and therefore, we aim to make a meaningful impact in the fight against Cancer
