“Integrative approaches for detection and targeting Triple-Negative Breast Cancer”
Triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive heterogenous disease, which unlike other breast cancer subtypes, currently has no effective treatment except standard chemotherapy. We apply multidisciplinary approaches to identify effective therapeutic strategies for precision medicine of TNBC patients as well as for early detection of breast cancer. In a synthetic lethal high-throughput screen, we identified clinically relevant combination therapies with high efficacy and limited toxicity across multiple TNBC subtypes. We further found a unique and intrinsic vulnerability of TNBC to ferroptosis, and are currently exploiting this susceptibility to identify promising targets for TNBC therapy.
