“The Translational Research Cycle - Lessons from Down Syndrome”
Studies of rare syndromes often lead to discoveries of general significance. I will describe how research of the leukemias common in children with Down Syndrome led to discovery of genes and pathways of general importance in leukemia and prostate cancer in children and adults without Down Syndrome, and the most recent discovery of potential therapeutics
